Man UpSample

Week 2: Be a Man for Your Family
Compassion on our children does not mean avoiding discipline; like most things in life, it’s a balance. The Bible shows us that discipline is one of the most effective teaching tools – how else would we know to not touch a stove if it didn’t burn us and leave a mark?
In the same way, we need to teach our children the truths of life that God has given us in His word. We do not do this out of anger, but out of love – always check your motives. In fact, when we avoid discipline, we withhold true love from our children by not preparing them for the world and to follow God. Discipline out of love.
Practical Steps
- Spend time praying this morning that God would give you the wisdom to (either as a parent now or an eventual parent) discipline your child when necessary, and to give them grace when appropriate.
