Unhidden: Unmask Shame, Embrace Authority, and Lead Others to Christ

DAY 2 OF 5

Day Two | Unmasked – No More Counterfeit Living

Many believers live behind spiritual masks—smiling on the outside but bound by fear, people-pleasing, and performance. The temptation to project a “strong” image can lead us to become a counterfeit version of who God created us to be.

But 2 Corinthians 3 reminds us that where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom—and we, with unveiled faces, reflect His glory. You don’t need to impress anyone. You were made to reflect Him.

Masks may protect your image, but they rob you of intimacy—with both God and others. When you wear a mask, people can’t see the real you—and neither can you see the fullness of who God has called you to be. Counterfeit living says, “If they really knew me, they wouldn’t accept me.” But the Spirit of God says, “I already know you—and I love you as you are.” Unmasking is not about becoming someone new; it’s about returning to who you were before fear dressed you in pretense.

Galatians 1:10 challenges us: are we seeking approval from people or from God? Counterfeit living always puts people’s opinions above God’s purpose. But when you take off the mask, you make room for authentic connection—with God and others.

Colossians 3 invites you to “put off the old self” and put on your new identity in Christ. You are not who you used to be. You don’t have to pretend anymore. Truth—real, liberating truth—is found in Christ. And that truth sets you free (John 8:32).

Living unmasked is a courageous decision to be honest about where you are so God can shape who you're becoming. You weren’t created to blend in—you were called to stand out as a reflection of God’s glory. When you drop the mask, you make space for healing, connection, and the power of God to be seen through your authenticity.

Your Reflection Question:
Where in your life are you still wearing a mask? What truth does God want you to walk in instead?

Pray This Prayer:
God, I repent for the ways I’ve pretended to be someone I’m not. I take off the mask. I choose truth over performance. Help me walk confidently in my new identity and reflect Your glory with authenticity. You sit on the highest throne where you will always remain. Amen.

See you on Day 3.

About this Plan

Unhidden: Unmask Shame, Embrace Authority, and Lead Others to Christ

God never created you to live hidden—shrinking back in shame, pretending to be someone you’re not, or playing small when you’ve been called to lead. This 5-day Bible plan will guide you through what it means to live Unhidden—vulnerable before God, free from guilt, walking boldly in your authority, and leading others toward the finished work of Jesus Christ. It’s time to take off the mask, rise in faith, and be who God always knew you to be.
