The Greatness of Serving
"even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Matthew 20:28, ESV).
The greatest heroes are the greatest servants. When the disciples asked Jesus how to become great leaders, He taught them about the power of serving! Jesus told them that the way to become a great leader was through being a great servant. At the Last Supper, Jesus washed His disciples’ feet as an example of how they should serve one another. He showed them true greatness through service! (John 13:3-17)
Jesus is the King of the universe, yet He became a humble servant and gave His life to help others. Why did He do that?
If Jesus used His power to serve others and take care of them, we should too! Who are some people you can serve?
Dear God, I want to be a great servant like King Jesus! He used His power to help others in need. Show me ways that I can help serve others in the same way. Thank You for showing me the power of serving. Amen!
