The Power of Prayer

"The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working" (James 5:16b).

Prayer is one of the greatest powers you have! In 1 Samuel 1, a faithful woman named Hannah was very sad because she did not have any children. Instead of giving up hope, she faithfully prayed to God and asked for a son. Hannah made a promise to God: if He gave her a son, she would dedicate him to serve the Lord. God heard Hannah’s prayer and answered her! She later gave birth to Samuel, who grew up to become a great prophet of God.

Our prayers are powerful because God hears them and cares about us! We can bring anything and everything to God in prayer. What are some things you want to pray about?

Dear God, Thank You for hearing my prayers and caring about me. I know that You answer prayers, just like when You helped Hannah. I know that I can talk to You about anything when I pray. Thank You for loving me and listening to my prayers. Amen!
