EquipHer Vol. 23: "Living With Intentionality"Sample

Day 5 – Reinventing in New Seasons
Have you ever found yourself continuing something that made perfect sense in a previous season of life—but just doesn’t fit anymore? Not everything that once worked is automatically right for right now. And yet, we often keep going out of habit, fear of disappointing others, or simply to avoid the discomfort of change. But intentionality doesn’t allow us to stay passive.
Reinvention isn’t just reacting to change—it’s an intentional response to what God is doing in us and around us.
The Bible reminds us that everything has a time and a purpose: “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” (Ecclesiastes 3:1 NIV). What feels heavy today may just be something that’s reached its God-appointed end—not because it wasn’t from Him, but because the season has shifted. And when the season shifts, our strategies, rhythms, and priorities should shift too.
God never asks us to cling to the past. He calls us to recognize and embrace the new thing He is doing: “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:18–19 NIV).
Being intentional in a new season isn’t just about adapting—it’s about pausing to listen, asking for clarity, and realigning your priorities with God’s current direction. It takes courage to ask, “Am I chasing goals that no longer belong to me, or am I following where God is actually leading me now?”
In your professional life, this can lead to tangible shifts. Maybe it’s time to reevaluate how you lead your team. Maybe it’s time to develop a new skill—because what brought you here won’t necessarily take you there.
Intentionality shows up in the way we approach our daily routines, too. Sometimes, just looking at your weekly calendar reveals your current focus. Every meeting, task, and habit deserves to be examined under the question: “Is this aligned with God’s will for me in this season?”
It’s easy to slip into autopilot, continuing with what’s familiar or expected. But intentional living calls us to pause—and ask the right questions.
Today’s practical step:
Take a moment to pray over your schedule. Look at your weekly to-do list or your current commitments. Ask God: “What are You calling me to focus on in this season?” Write down one priority you feel led to pursue, and one task you sense it’s time to release.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to recognize change as an opportunity to draw closer to You. Free me from the habit of carrying old responsibilities just because I always have. Help me discern what belongs to this new season, and give me the courage to let go of what doesn’t. Make me sensitive to Your voice and bold in my decisions. I want to live every season with intention—aligned with Your vision. Amen.
