Provision

The beginning of generosity is provision. Just as a farmer requires seed for a harvest, we must also be provided with something to sow. A farmer can’t grow anything without seeds, and in the same way we cannot give generously without first being provided for. In order for us to follow God’s instructions, we must acknowledge that God himself has equipped us to do it. Whether we give our time, talents, money, or love, God is the one who has given us what we need. He provides us with the ability to sow seeds of generosity.

God has supplied you with everything you need to help grow his kingdom. He will increase your resources as you diligently plant seeds of faith. His provision is an ongoing act. He doesn’t give you everything you’ll need all at once. As you look to him continuously, he will not let you down. He understands that each day comes with new needs and unforeseen situations. He is not impatient or frustrated when you continue to ask him for help. He is eager to supply you with daily provision.

As God multiplies your resources, he will also increase the harvest. Generosity can change lives and draw hearts closer to God. Your kindness gives the world a glimpse of God’s kind and generous nature. Generosity creates positive change around you and also within your own heart. You will be blessed when you bless others. You will find contentment and joy when you live with open hands, looking for opportunities to share what you’ve been given. God gives to you generously that you might be generous.
