How We Gave $1 Million (Without Being Rich)Sample

Day 1: The Question That Changes Everything
One question can redirect your entire financial journey.
It happened for Linda and me on an ordinary Sunday, sitting in our beat-up Ford Focus outside church. The question wasn't practical. It wasn't logical. But it changed everything:
"What if we could give away a million dollars?"
The timing couldn't have been worse. We were making minimum wage. Debt collectors were calling daily. Our bank account had about $7 in it.
Yet something about this question felt divinely placed.
Your financial breakthroughs begin with the questions you're willing to ask.
Throughout scripture, Jesus rarely gave direct answers. Instead, He asked questions that revealed heart motives and transformed thinking patterns.
Our million-dollar question wasn't about the number. It was about seeing money through Kingdom eyes rather than worldly scarcity.
In God's Kingdom, streets are paved with gold. Five loaves feed thousands. The last become first. Abundance, not scarcity, is the operating principle.
Every financial decision becomes clearer when filtered through your mission.
When we adopted this seemingly impossible goal, it became our decision-making filter:
- Should we buy this?
- Take that job?
- Move here?
- Invest there?
Everything came back to: "Will this move us toward or away from our million-dollar giving goal?"
Proverbs 23:7 reveals this transformative principle: "As you think in your heart, so are you." By entertaining this impossible question, we began thinking like stewards rather than owners.
The shift from consumer to steward happens in your thinking before it happens in your wallet.
What impossible question might God be placing on your heart today? What if your financial struggles aren't about your resources but about your paradigm?
Remember, transformation begins not with your bank account but with how you think about what's in it.
Let’s pray: Father, realign my thinking about money with Your Kingdom principles. Help me see myself not as an owner but as a steward of what You've entrusted to me. Plant in my heart the impossible questions that will lead me toward greater generosity and impact. Let my financial life reflect Your abundant heart.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
