God’s Strengthening Word: Mercy & Forgiveness

DAY 1 OF 31

Introduction

Psalm 32: This psalm begins by celebrating the happiness of those whose sins are forgiven. What follows is a description of life experienced both before and after confessing one’s sins (verses 3–5). The writer encourages people to pray and concludes with praise for the LORD’s righteousness.

Today’s Key Verse: Psalm 32:1 GNT

Happy are those whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned.

Reflect

Describe the psalm writer’s feelings before and after confession. Have you ever felt this way? How have you experienced God’s forgiveness? What sins might you need to confess today?

Pray

Lord God, you are my hiding place. I turn to you in prayer in my time of need. Today I seek your forgiveness and confess _________________. I sing aloud of your salvation and rejoice because of your righteousness. Amen.

Tomorrow’s Reading

Psalm 56: A prayer of trust in God.
