30 Days of Prayer: A Call to Care for the World's Most VulnerableSample

Day 8: Prayer for Mental Health
Reflection: Mental health struggles affect people of all ages, including children who may not fully understand what they’re experiencing. Anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health challenges can be overwhelming, especially for young minds still developing coping skills or emotional tools. God's invitation to cast our anxieties on him isn't just for adults — it's for every person struggling with mental and emotional pain.
When we pray for mental health, we're asking God to bring healing to wounded minds and hearts. We're interceding for children dealing with trauma, loss, abuse, or mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression. We're also praying for families who feel helpless watching their children struggle and for communities that often stigmatize mental health challenges. God sees every anxious thought, every fearful moment and every struggle with sadness or despair. He promises to be close to the brokenhearted and to heal those who are wounded.
Today, let us pray for children's mental health, for access to counseling and treatment and for the removal of shame surrounding mental health struggles. May we create safe spaces where children can express their feelings and receive the help they need.
