God Our Healer

DAY 22 OF 30

“Stretch Out Your Hand”

In Acts 4, the early church was under pressure. Peter and John had just been threatened and ordered not to speak or teach in the name of Jesus. Instead of retreating in fear, the believers gathered and prayed with boldness. Their request wasn't for safety or comfort. It was for God to stretch out His hand, and to heal, to move in power, and to confirm His word through the name of Jesus.

This prayer reflects deep trust in a powerful God. It shows that the early church didn’t rely on human strategy, but on divine authority. And God responded. Verse 31 says the place where they were praying was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. How often do we pray like this? When challenges come, it’s easy to pray for escape. But here, we’re challenged to pray for impact, for God to show His power, and for Jesus’ name to be exalted through our faith, our witness, and His miraculous work. We still serve a God who stretches out His hand to heal, restore, and move in supernatural ways.

What It Means to Pray Boldly:

  • Healing: Trusting God to touch the broken areas—physical, emotional, spiritual.
  • Signs and wonders: Asking for things only God can do—not to impress, but to point to Jesus.
  • In Jesus’ name: Standing in His authority, not ours. Our prayers carry weight because of Him.

This isn’t about chasing miracles; it’s about seeking God’s glory and presence in a world that desperately needs both.

Questions for Reflection:

  • What would it look like for you to pray bold, kingdom-minded prayers today?
  • Are there places in your life or community where you’re asking God to “stretch out His hand”?
  • Do you truly believe He can, and will move?

Prayer:

Lord, stretch out Your hand today. Bring healing where there is brokenness, hope where there is despair, and power where there is weakness. Let Your name be glorified in and through me. Teach me to pray with boldness, not for my benefit, but for the sake of Your kingdom. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
