Moon to Blood (S4-E3)Sample

You need a 180
“What is needed is my repentance.” What a powerful line.
David needed a “180.”
In Psalm 51, we read his prayer. It’s raw, emotional, and straight from the heart. No softening the edges. You can feel the honesty. David had sinned, and he turned to the Lord.
That’s the key: David sought the Lord.
So often, we seek something else.
We look for self-justification: “It wasn’t that bad.”
We make excuses: “Well, the circumstances were really difficult.”
We point to others: “The man/woman You gave me…”
But in the end, those are all just excuses.
And excuses are not repentance.
Repentance is what is needed because sin comes with a cost.
For David, the cost was the life of his child. It cost a life.
For us, sin means we miss out on true life. It costs us a life not lived in fullness.
But look at Jesus. He gave His life. Why? To set us free from sin. He promised “life in abundance,” but it cost Him His life.
Sin has a price.
 Life has a price.
So turn to Him. Make the “180.” And live the life Jesus has prepared for you.
Repentance starts by turning to Jesus and trusting Him. By confessing your sins honestly, just like David did. Jesus promises that if you come to Him with that kind of heart, He will never turn you away. He will save you, set you free, and give you eternal life.
Reflection Questions
- What do you think about David’s open and honest attitude about his mistakes?
 - Have you ever been that open and sincere before God?
 - Is there anything you need to repent from? Who could help you take that step and walk alongside you?
 - Jesus came to give us life. How do you experience some of that fullness of life today?

Prayer
Lord, there is so much brokenness. I don’t have to look far. It’s in my own heart, in my own life. I long for Your wholeness. I long for You. Lord, I want to turn back to You. Like David, I confess that I fall short and often make a mess of things. I am sinful and I sin. Lord, help me to see where I need a 180 today. Lord, save me! Bring me close to Your heart. That’s where I want to be. Amen.
