Renewing Your Mind to Treasure God’s Will

To direct our hearts to treasure doing God’s will, we must renew our minds. When our minds are renewed to think like God thinks, it naturally directs our actions to align with His desires.

So, how do we renew our minds? Start by knowing what God thinks so we can think like Him. The primary way to do this is by reading His Word. Daily Bible reading allows us to understand God’s character. The more we know God, the more we become like Him. You begin to see not just what God does, but why He does it—this makes all the difference in our thinking.

Understanding God’s heart—His great love, overwhelming compassion, sadness over the lost, and righteous anger over sin—changes how we view life. We will naturally want to be more like Him. Seeing life as God sees it leads to actions that honor Him.

The right thinking produces the right actions. As you read the Bible, ask yourself:

• How does God feel about different aspects of my life and the world around me?
• How would He want me to respond to situations I face?

Seeing God’s character in this way renews your mind, helping you to think like Him and cultivating a heart that treasures doing His will.
