God’s love can transform any life

I grew up in a strong religious family, but I didn’t know or love Jesus. By my teens, I was depressed, angry, smoking pot, and even suicidal. At 15 years old, I ended up at a prayer meeting I didn’t want to attend. In the middle of that gathering, everything changed. The Holy Spirit came upon me, pouring out God’s love in a way I had never known. For the first time, I realized the very God I had cursed actually loved me personally (1 John 4:19). His love was overwhelming and irresistible. Without anyone prompting me—just the Holy Spirit—I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. That night, my world was transformed forever (2 Corinthians 5:17). The sky really seemed bluer, the grass greener, and I finally had a reason to live. As God began shaping me, I started reading the Bible and praying daily, and soon I recognized His call to ministry. My transformation deeply impacted my family—my immediate family all came to Christ over time (Acts 16:31).

My journey into pool and billiards began in 2001. My wife and I went on a date to a pool hall and had a fun night playing pool. Almost immediately, I sensed God showing me an opportunity for ministry. We formed a Christian team in a very nice pool hall, and what started there grew into a lifelong avenue of sharing the gospel in the pool world. For over twenty-three years now, I’ve ministered to pool players—amateurs to professionals—while enjoying the game. It’s been a joy to discover other Christians who share the same passion for reaching the billiards community with the love of Jesus. Together, we’ve seen lives changed by the hope only Christ can bring.

Through the highs and lows of life, one truth remains: Jesus will always come first in my life (Matthew 6:33). My heart’s desire is to encourage others to trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9–10), to live fully for Him, and to know that no matter their past, God’s love can transform any life—just as He did mine.
