The Pursuit - 12 Weeks

DAY 29 OF 84

This week, we’re going to look closely at who Jesus really is. The Bible doesn’t paint him as a vague spiritual figure or just a good moral teacher. It reveals Him as the Son of God — fully divine, fully human, and the Savior of the world.

That’s why Acts 10 is the perfect place to begin. Here, Peter preaches to Cornelius, a Roman centurion — one of the first non-Jews to hear the gospel clearly explained. This moment is massive. Until now, many followers of Jesus thought His message was just for Israel. But through Peter’s vision and Cornelius’ faith, God made something crystal clear: Jesus isn’t just the Messiah of the Jews; he is “Lord of all.”

Those three words change everything. They mean Jesus’ authority has no borders. He’s not confined to one culture, one nation, or one type of person. His kingdom includes soldiers and servants, rich and poor, insiders and outsiders. Peter’s entire worldview shifted that day when he realized God’s plan had always been global — that through Jesus, anyone could come to God.

But we have to get Jesus right. There are lots of ideas out there about who he is and what he did. Let’s explore what the Bible has to say about it.

Reflection:

In what area of your life do you most struggle to let Jesus be “Lord of all”?
