Grace & TruthSample

The Bridge Between Grace and Truth
John the Baptist’s cry still echoes across time: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” The word repent can sound harsh, but in Scripture it means something far deeper than guilt. To repent is to turn around, to change direction, to awaken to truth and walk toward grace.
Repentance is where truth and grace meet. Without truth, we never face what is really happening within us. Without grace, the weight of our failure crushes us. But repentance holds both together. It tells the truth about sin while trusting in the greater truth of God’s mercy.
Conviction is the voice of the Holy Spirit stirring us toward change. It is painful, but it is also hopeful because it draws us closer to Christ. Condemnation, on the other hand, isolates and destroys. The good news of Advent is that when we confess our sin, grace is already waiting.
Repentance is not a one-time event but a rhythm of renewal. Every time we turn back to God, He meets us with the same promise: forgiveness, cleansing, and the power to begin again.
Reflection Questions:
1.What truth about yourself might God be inviting you to face with honesty and humility this week?
2.How does seeing repentance as a doorway to grace rather than a burden of guilt change your perspective on sin?
3.Where is God calling you to stop hiding and return fully to His mercy and truth?
About this Plan

Advent is the season when we prepare our hearts for the arrival of Jesus - the Word made flesh, full of grace and truth. In these five reflections, we’ll look at how Jesus reveals the fullness of God’s love and challenges us to live in that same balance of mercy and conviction. Each week offers a Scripture reading, a short devotional, and questions for reflection to help you draw closer to Christ. As you read, may you come to know that God’s grace meets you in truth, and His truth always leads you back to grace.
