The Prayer TitheSample

Day 2 - “In This Manner Therefore Pray” Matt. 6:9
Pray for Spiritual Hunger and A Desire to Pray
Jesus shows us that prayer is meant to be a natural part of our lives. He doesn’t say “if you pray,” but “when you pray.” He calls us away from performance and into personal, private communion. This verse reminds us that prayer isn’t for people’s applause, but for God’s attention, and He sees, He hears, and He responds. As we begin this prayer tithe, we admit that prayer doesn’t always come naturally. But we also acknowledge that the Holy Spirit can stir a desire within us. Today, we start simply by showing up. Find your “room,” a quiet place of intentional stillness, and ask God to deepen your hunger for Him. Don't worry about eloquence; just start.
Prayer: Father, I want to want you more. Stir within me a longing to talk with You. Forgive me for the times I’ve gone through the motions or made prayer about anything other than Your presence. Today, teach me to pray, not like the hypocrites or the pagans, but like a child who trusts their Father. Amen.

About this Plan

The Prayer Tithe began as a whisper from God: “Tithe your year in prayer.” Just as we give the first of our income, the Lord invited the author to give the first of her time—37 days, two prayer watches each day—as a sacred offering. Out of that obedience, a movement was born. This devotional marks the beginning of the journey—a call to seek God first, surrender fully, and experience personal revival. The Prayer Tithe is written by Dawn C.Costa and Teela Ross.
