The Believer's DependencySample

In God we Trust
In this world, there are many 'nice to have' things like money, family, fame, influence, etc. While these are good (very, very good) and essential in living in this world, we must not place our trust in them, nor boast in them. Have them as much as you can, but let them not be the source of your confidence. I was praying one day and I got this: Do not trust in the strength of man’s wisdom or in the greatness of material wealth. Happy are you when you’re content with the Spirit.
We live in a world where men pride themselves in their connection to fellow men or in their fame, power, or wealth. Men boast in natural possession; our boast is Christ!
Money comes and money goes; it would be a mistake to have confidence in money. Fans come and go; it would be a mistake to have confidence in fame. Power comes, power goes. A president today will not remain a president forever, so why trust and put all your confidence on material possessions? The Spirit comes and never goes that’s what we should have confidence in. We rejoice in Christ; we don’t have any confidence in the flesh.
Among all the things we clamour for and strive to get, how many can we possess in life beyond death? How much money or fame can a man bring to eternity? But a man who has the Spirit of God, does so in this life and in the one to come!
Think on these things.
