Self-Inflicted WoundsSample

Learning to Heal Myself with God’s Help
Healing from self-inflicted wounds takes courage because it requires honesty, repentance, and grace all at once.
There were seasons I prayed for God to change my situation, when what He really wanted was to change me. I blamed others for the pain I created by refusing to obey, rest, or forgive. But when I finally allowed Him to search my heart, I realized: I wasn’t broken beyond repair, I was just unfinished.
God doesn’t shame us into healing; He invites us. He uncovers wounds not to expose us, but to free us. Healing yourself with God’s help means you stop hiding behind excuses and start walking in surrender.
And once He begins the work, you’ll find peace where you used to find pain.
Reflection
Where do I need to allow God to search my heart and reveal self-inflicted wounds? What step can I take today to walk in surrender and let Him begin the healing process?
Action Step
Spend 10 minutes in prayer asking God to reveal areas of self-inflicted hurt. Write down what He brings to mind and commit to walking in His guidance toward healing.
Prayer
Father, thank You for loving me enough to confront me. Heal every wound I’ve caused myself. Make me whole, and let my healing story bring others hope. Amen.

About this Plan

Sometimes the deepest wounds in ministry are the ones we inflict on ourselves. In this 5-day devotional, worship leaders, psalmists, worship team members, musicians, and creatives are invited to confront patterns of overwork, perfectionism, and self-imposed pressure that can quietly erode the soul. Through Scripture, reflection, and practical steps, Self-Inflicted Wounds guides you toward self-awareness, grace, and God-centered healing. You’ll learn how to release guilt, extend compassion to yourself, and reclaim joy in worship, so that your service flows from freedom and not from fear or obligation.
