Sit. Walk. Stand. Sample

Take Your Seat
Have you ever been seated on the outside but pacing on the inside? You’re physically still, but your mind is racing, your heart is unsettled, and you feel like you need to fix something to find peace again. Paul begins Ephesians by confronting this exact tension. He writes to believers “in Ephesus,” yet reminds them of a deeper reality, they are in Christ (Eph. 1:1). Two locations. Two realities. One truth: your spiritual position is greater than your physical condition.
Paul wrote these words from a prison cell, yet prison wasn’t in him because he knew where he was seated. We are raised and seated with Christ (Eph. 2:6). Before you ever learn how to walk or stand, God invites you simply to sit and rest in what Jesus has already finished.
When we forget our seat, we start striving for what’s already ours. We chase blessing instead of receiving it. We fight for identity instead of living from it. We search for peace in “Ephesus,” when peace is already ours “in Christ.” The gospel doesn’t begin with a command. It begins with a position.
Today God whispers,“Take your seat.”You don’t earn this place. You don’t maintain it by good behavior. You receive it by faith because Jesus placed you there.
Let this truth wake something up in you today: You are not striving toward victory, you are seated in it.
Reflection Question
Where are you pacing internally, and what would change if you truly believed you were already seated in Christ?
Practical Application
Pause for five quiet minutes today and speak this truth aloud:“I am seated with Christ. My spirit is at rest.”
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for seating me with You in heavenly places. Quiet my internal striving and teach my heart to rest in what You’ve already finished. Open my eyes to see myself as You see me. Amen.
About this Plan

Have you ever noticed that you can be physically at rest, yet internally restless? The world, the flesh, and the devil all conspire to pull us out of that inner rest. But in his letter to the Ephesians, Paul anchors us in a greater truth: we are seated in Christ. This spiritual reality isn’t just a theological concept, it’s transformational. It’s meant to shape our internal world, grounding us in peace, identity, and purpose no matter what surrounds us. This study is designed to equip you to 'Stay in the Seat'.
