Redeeming Reign

DAY 1 OF 5

DAY 1: THE CAUSE

We all want or need to be redeemed from something. The need for atonement, reparation, and propitiation arises at some point in our lives. Some types of payment or exchange that exonerate our souls from condemnation or contempt of any kind. The Lord is the only way we are fully redeemed. His sacrifice paid our ransom. Is it just a convenient coincidence that the name of this Bible plan rang like a thousand bells in my ear when the Holy Spirit laid it on my heart? No. There are no real "coincidences". The REIGN and RAIN wordplay work well for the sake of what this Bible plan intends to communicate. While it may play well in writer’s circles, it is certainly no game. The redeeming reign of our omnipotent creator is the very essence of our spiritual DNA and the beauty of our existence, and from His lineage. It is serious business and worthy of the weight it should carry in our heart’s foundation. God’s redeeming sovereignty, provision, and love are freely given to a broken, black-hearted humanity at the expense of a Savior, Jesus Christ.

Grace is not about earning or worthiness. It isn’t available for some, and unavailable for others. God does not discriminate and is "no respector of persons" (Acts 10:34). Similar to steady R-A-I-Nfall as the primary remedy for a dry, hardened, barren farmer’s field, our soul’s thirst can only be quenched by the R-E-I-G-N of a redeeming, loving, merciful Heavenly Father. We are cleansed by the "washing of the water of the Word" (Ephesians 5:26). My spiritual purpose and depth of the journey crystallized most when I realized I couldn’t clean myself. I was unable to whitewash the stain of my past on my own. We aren’t designed to "de-blemish" ourselves. God’s grace and forgiveness are the ultimate Powerwashers for our grime. He is the one who allows the scales to fall from our eyes and lets us see the need for our true heart transformation.

My prayer is that we all accept the daily challenge to seek God first, and to embrace the convictions of the Holy Spirit as loving guidance and correction for our spiritual well-being.

About this Plan

Redeeming Reign

We have all worn the cloak of failure, shame, or regret and seek redemption. Many have journeyed underneath the shadow of condemnation. God has made a way to freedom through Jesus Christ. He has paved a path for redemption and still rules and reigns in our quest for healing. This Bible plan will encourage all who have struggled to receive the grace, forgiveness, and mercy of our loving Heavenly Father.
