Kong Hee: Learning To LoveSample
Learning To Love Like Christ Loves You
It’s powerfully clear in Scripture that Christians are called by God to love others. During the last moments before His crucifixion, Christ implored the disciples to love one another. Christ taught that loving and obeying God means loving and serving others in His name.
The difficulty is that most people have a skewed image of love. Perhaps you have been loved poorly. Maybe you feel that you have not been loved at all. All people have experienced what might be considered damaged love, or love gone wrong. Take time to consider if you have ever loved others with a distorted love. How then can anyone be expected to love others fully without first understanding how to love others rightly?
Romans 5:8 says, “God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us.” In His choice to die on your behalf, Christ reveals the most important aspect of perfect love: Sacrifice.
Human love is often broken and distorted because people inevitably seek to love others so they might receive something in return. But Christ needs nothing from you. It is you who need something from Christ.
When Christ died so that you might receive full and eternal life, He perfectly demonstrated that true love is purposefully offered regardless of whether someone deserves it or not. True love gives of itself continually. It is not an easy task, but today you are called to love others just as Christ loved you.
Prayer for the Day:
Today, ask God to teach you how to love as He does, and pray for opportunities to show that love to others.

About this Plan
Love is the greatest message of the gospel! True love gives of itself continually and we are called to love others as Christ has loved us—however difficult that might be. Learn what it means to love the way Christ did. And be blessed knowing that God loves you, in spite of all you may have done!
