DAY 20 OF 30

LEARN FROM VASHTI

Esther 1:12: Vashti refused the king's command, and his anger burned. (He was mad.)

Picture this: King Xerxes is throwing a massive, drunken party. He tries to show off his queen, Vashti, by ordering her to parade herself in front of his male guests. It was a humiliating power move.

Vashti's response? A firm "No, thank you." She chose self-respect over keeping her comfy royal spot. This wasn't about politics; it was about drawing a personal line. Naturally, the King and his staff panicked, worried that every woman in the kingdom would get the same idea. So, they dethroned her.

We know that there was a lack of submission and honour to the king, but there is still something to learn from her.

Vashti's challenge is super relevant: Where do you draw the line? We constantly feel pressure to compromise our morals, our integrity, or just our gut feeling—maybe to get ahead at work, keep the peace with friends, or just feel accepted.

Vashti reminds us that being willing to walk away from a "throne" (a job, status, or easy path) is totally worth it if it means keeping your "soul" intact.

This plan seeks to help you learn lessons from women in the Bible. I am amazed at how relevant their stories are today and the innumerable lessons we can learn from them.
