A Place to “Go Together”
Scripture:
Mark 6:7 (KJV): “And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits.”
Reflection:
Small groups are not meant to be spiritual waiting rooms; they are launchpads for loving action. Jesus sent His disciples together because mission grows stronger when courage is shared. When we go alone, fear feels louder, but when we go together, faith speaks first. Rick Warren says that God’s purposes are fulfilled through people, and Scripture shows that community turns intention into impact. We gather to be shaped, and we scatter to serve. Comfort can abuse calling by convincing us to stay still. Groups remind us that growth is not only inward; it is outward. When two walk together, courage multiplies, wisdom sharpens, and love finds practical expression. The early church moved in homes and streets, and God added to their number because grace had feet. Mission is not a program; it is a posture carried by ordinary people. You do not need perfect words to represent Christ; you need willing steps and faithful friends. Over time, shared obedience builds shared stories, and shared stories build shared confidence. When groups go together, compassion becomes visible, hope becomes portable, and the gospel becomes credible.
Application:
Plan one simple act of service this month. Invite one person to join you and go together without overplanning. Pray for one specific neighbor or coworker and look for an open door. Share briefly what God is doing and listen with patience. Keep moving even when results seem small, because faithfulness compounds. Thank God for your group but as a group refuse be “insider focused.” You have a world to change!
Prayer:
Lord, send us together with courage, compassion, and clarity. Make our steps useful and our love visible, Amen.
