EquipHer Vol. 46: "No Rush!"

DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1 — Delay Does Not Mean Denial

Even with consistent effort, sound decisions, and responsibility handled with intention, progress can feel slower than expected. When effort and outcome are out of sync, uncertainty quietly begins to creep in.

This is often where a familiar tension exists; prolonged waiting causes you to revisit decisions you have already made and question choices that once felt clear.

However, Scripture reminds us that timing is not random; it unfolds within God’s purpose, even when it feels unclear to us. The Lord Himself says, “I, the Lord, will do it swiftly in its time” (Isaiah 60:22, NIV). That phrase—in its time—points to alignment. Movement happens when things are positioned correctly, not simply when effort increases.

For women in business, this distinction matters deeply. Time is not an abstract idea, but a resource we are called to steward with wisdom and strategy. Launching too early can compromise a strong idea; expanding without clear direction can weaken sustainability; and momentum without alignment may create movement, but it does not lead to real progress.

This is why delay does not equal denial. Sometimes, God allows a season to stretch so that what you are building becomes solid, stable, and sustainable over time.

It is worth taking a moment to pause and reflect on the conclusions you may be reaching too quickly. Are you reading a slower season as a ‘no’, when it might simply be a ‘not yet’? Are you measuring this moment by visible results alone, or by alignment with what you know you were called to steward?

Choosing not to rush is not the same as standing still. In many cases, it is a sign of discernment. Delaying a decision does not always indicate insecurity; often, it reflects maturity.

Prayer: Lord, help me see time through Your perspective. When results feel delayed, guard my heart from discouragement and premature conclusions. Teach me to value alignment over urgency and wisdom over speed. I trust that You are at work even when progress feels quiet. Amen.
