BE STEADY, NOT IMPULSIVE
Anchor Scripture: Proverbs 19:2
“Desire without knowledge is not good—how much more will hasty feet miss the way!”
Impulse often disguises itself as passion. Scripture warns that haste undermines wisdom because it bypasses reflection. Steadiness preserves clarity and prevents regret.
God’s leading is rarely rushed. Elijah encountered God not in the wind or fire, but in a gentle whisper (1 Kings 19:11–12). Steady listening produces wiser action than emotional urgency.
James cautions believers to be “slow to speak and slow to become angry” (James 1:19). Slowness here is not laziness; it is discernment. Steady people weigh consequences before acting.
Wisdom grows where patience governs desire. Steadiness allows truth to surface before decisions are finalized.
Truths to Hold
- Steadiness protects judgment
- Impulsiveness invites regret
- Wisdom grows through patience
