PURPOSE GIVES MEANING TO EFFORT
Anchor Scripture: Proverbs 24:27
“Put your outdoor work in order and get your fields ready; after that, build your house.”
Purpose brings order to effort. Without purpose, people expend energy but experience little fulfillment. Scripture teaches sequence—prepare first, then build. Purpose clarifies priorities and prevents wasted motion.
Dr. Myles Munroe often emphasized that purpose is the original intent of the Creator. Scripture supports this: “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works” (Ephesians 2:10). You were designed with intention, not randomness.
Purpose also sustains motivation. When effort is connected to meaning, endurance increases. Jesus endured the cross “for the joy set before Him” (Hebrews 12:2). Purpose gave Him strength beyond pain. When you know why you are doing something, perseverance becomes possible.
Purpose does not eliminate hard work; it directs it. Psalm 127:1 reminds us that unless God builds, labor becomes vain. Alignment transforms labor into legacy.
