When Trust Becomes a Decision!Sample

When Trust Becomes a Decision!

DAY 5 OF 7

God can listen…

David was a man of faith. And yet, he was also a man who could be deeply emotional.

One powerful example of this is found in 1 Samuel 30. Picture this: David returns with his mighty men from a great battle and suddenly everything turns upside down. Scripture says:

“Then David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep.” (1 Samuel 30:4, NIV)

I love these nuances in the Bible—the ones we can easily overlook while reading, yet they make all the difference. David was emotional. Yes. And he had every reason to cry out loud. Here, he was grieving together with his friends.

And yet, again and again in the scriptures, you see when it is just him and God. Here’s what he says after his grief: “I trusted in the Lord when I said, ‘I am greatly afflicted..’” (Psalm 116:10, NIV).

David did talk things through with friends—yes. But he also knew there was only one place he could truly turn to. Because only God can listen AND change the situation.

So I love this psalm where it says again: “I trusted in the Lord when I said, ‘I am greatly afflicted..’” (Psalm 116:10, NIV).

How often do we talk to others about our problems and then stay silent before God because we feel we’ve “already talked about it enough?"

Friends are a blessing. We need them! But make prayer your priority.

Because there is only One who can listen AND change your life.

And… Your trust grows through that! No one else can walk this path for you. But you’ll see that people who pray first live differently. And they talk about their worries differently, too.

“I trusted in the Lord when I said, ‘I am greatly afflicted..’” (Psalm 116:10, NIV).

Will you say it to HIM today, too?

You are a miracle!
