DAY 1: SEE THE KING!
At the time this scripture was written, Isaiah’s world was shaken beyond what he had experienced before. King Uzziah had just died, and he was one of the few ‘good’ kings of Israel who exalted and followed the ways of God. There was reason for Isaiah to be anxious, fearful, and timid because of the instability and chaos caused by the king’s death.
Yet in the midst of the trial, Isaiah saw something greater than he had ever seen before ~ the Lord seated on the throne! Before God could use him and send him out on mission, Isaiah needed to see the greatness and magnitude of who God is. God brings Isaiah into His presence, and as He does, his perspective shifts to seeing God on the throne.
Sometimes it can be so easy for us to see our circumstances reigning above all else. But the reality is, God is seated on the throne and He is high and exalted, meaning He reigns over everything. God invites us to experience and encounter Him as King and Lord of our lives, and when we see our God in this light, we can live in faith, knowing God reigns above every situation. Before we are sent on mission for God, we need to see Him as the sovereign God reigning above all.
PRAY: God, let me see You clearly. And from there, let me see my situation knowing you're with me.
