Promises to Trust
Thought: In Hebrews 11:1, we get a definition of faith. "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
The very concept of faith is acting on something you can't tangibly see yet. Inside of faith, we find ourselves taking wild, seemingly blind steps.
Abraham has been promised a family legacy, but still doesn't even have a single child in old age. Genesis 15:6 says that Abraham's faith in the waiting was credited as righteousness. It made him right with God, not because he had everything figured out, but because he trusted the promise of God! This points us towards the saving faith that is offered to all of us through the promise of Jesus. Students will be given the opportunity to take a step of faith and respond to the saving promise of Jesus.
Take a minute and pray. Is there something you're praying for your student this week? Saving faith? Renewed faith in a dry/distracted/distant season? Is there a conversation with God that you have been avoiding because you do not yet see the evidence you hoped for? Take a step of faith yourself and invite Him in!
About this Plan

At CAMP, your student is walking through the story of Abraham in Genesis. Abraham is known as a "hero of faith," saying "yes" to whatever God asked, over and over, and he found blessing on the other side of faithfulness. We know that faith may be new or challenging for you. Our hope is that, in following along with what your student is learning, you can engage in deeper conversation with them. This four-day devotional will include a scripture passage we're teaching at CAMP, a thought, and a couple of questions for you to prayerfully consider.
