Next Steps in Following JesusSample

Next Steps in Following Jesus: Grace
Despite what our culture may say about being basically good, Scripture is clear. We are all sinful, spiritually dead and condemned (v.1). But here is the good news. God’s grace comes to you unconditionally, in spite of who you are and what you have done (vv.4-5). You don’t have to clean up your life to receive forgiveness. God’s grace reaches you at your very point of need.
Salvation is not a reward. It is by grace alone. And you must receive this gift through faith, not by working your hardest, or doing your best (vv. 8-9). You must believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. Believe that on the third day, the Son of God rose from the dead and is alive. Put your trust in Him for the forgiveness of your sins and eternal life. This is not just believing in God or agreeing with the facts of the Gospel message. This means a living, personal, and growing relationship and commitment to Jesus Christ.
