About one-third of American adults report reading the Bible once a week or more. Only 24% of millennials claim to do so.
Why is reading the Bible so important for believers? “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). God’s Word is truth (John 17:17).
In our culture the lines between truth and lies are being increasingly blurred. We need truth to help us discern between truth and error. Scripture acts like a mirror giving you a perfect evaluation of who you really are. Without it we can rationalize and excuse our conduct, our words and our attitudes.
