Sharing Jesus Devotional By CCF & yesHEisHalimbawa
The right tone to use when sharing Jesus
There was a story of a class that was asked to submit an essay on what they did during the summer break. When they got their papers back, one student found that the teacher graded his paper with the word “WRONG!”
It is funny for its absurdity. How can someone possibly tell you that your personal experience is wrong?
The same goes with your testimony. It is your story. Some may not find it interesting. Others may not even believe it. But they most certainly can never say that it is wrong. So when you are given the opportunity to speak of the faith and hope that is in you, don’t jump in with a complex defense of your theology. Simply start by telling your story!
And how are we to do that? Well, the exhortation in today’s passage begins with the command that in our hearts we are to set apart Christ as Lord. So in telling your story, just let your mouth speak from the overflow of your heart! That way, you will speak with the love of the Lord in all gentleness and respect. After all, we are not called to win arguments. We are sent out to win souls.
Simply speak as Jesus would.
