To coont oor days syne teach us, sae Oor herts may win sic lear.

Syne let the glamour o’ the Lord, Oor God, upon us fa’; And siccar mak’ oor warks o’ hand, Ay, siccar mak’ tham a’.

Fu’ sune wi’ rowth o’ mercy sweet, O, mak’ oor sauls content; Syne sal we lilt and blythsome be Till a’ oor days be spent.

Or Thou the yirth and a’ the warl’ Had shapen to Thy plan, E’en God Thou art till time be dune, As frae when time began.

O Lord, oor hame in Thee alane Frae auld langsyne has been, Afore the too’rin’ hills were born, And heichts o’ land were seen.

A thousand years appear to be Nae mair afore Thy sicht, Than gliff o’ yesterday that’s gane, Or than a blink o’ nicht.
