Breaking Point

The concept of breaking through can be found within nature every day. I remember being in school, and learning about the life of a butterfly. Before a butterfly becomes an adult, they go through a lengthy process. The process has four stages: egg, larva, pupa, and adult. It starts with an egg being laid and a caterpillar forming. Once the larva, or caterpillar, has hatched from the egg, it will eat and continue to grow until it is time for the caterpillar to form a pupa. This pupa, commonly called a cocoon, will surround the caterpillar as it begins the transformation into a butterfly. After this long process, the butterfly will suddenly break through the cocoon, and climb out. This new creature has wings. It can fly. It looks nothing like it did before.

As a result of this process, this breaking point, and the eventual break through, the butterfly has become something greater. With that, the butterfly flies away, ready for the next generation to start the process over.

The butterfly had to change.

The transformation was a long and difficult process. It took time and dedication.

And, just like us, the butterfly has to break through during its breaking point.

Some of us, however, feel more like the caterpillar. We’re carrying around the same cocoon that we’ve had for years. We’re afraid of the process of change. We’re fearful about having to make the decision between breaking down and breaking through, so we remain stagnant.

We try to populate our future destiny with our past accomplishments! But God says, “I’ve got a whole new destiny in here. I’ve got new gifts, new callings, new anointing’s and new opportunities”

Are you ready to move? Are you ready to break through?

What are some other incidents in nature that display a moment of change and transformation?

What obstacle are you struggling to break through right now?
