Eat, Run, And Remember预览
Are You Guys Ready?
Americans will never forget September 11, 2001. Most of us can remember where we were when we saw or heard the news that terrorists had simultaneously hijacked four planes. One unforgettable story involved the United Airlines Flight 93, scheduled from Newark, New Jersey, to San Francisco, California, and a young man named Todd Beamer.
Todd was one of the passengers from the flight who placed credit card calls to loved ones when their flight was hijacked. Todd was unable to reach his wife but from the emergency operator he learned of the three planes flown into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. He and a handful of other passengers decided that flight 93 would not reach its intended target of destruction and took matters into their own hands. The last words the operator heard were Todd’s: “Are you guys ready? Let’s roll.”
Flight 93 crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, 125 miles from Washington, DC. Todd and all the people on board perished. Because of their bravery, the heroes who joined Todd that day prevented many more deaths. “Let’s roll!” became the battle cry in the ensuing war on terror.
We’ve seen that knowing God’s will requires a process. But as the heroes of Flight 93 demonstrated, it ultimately requires action on our part. The time will come when we must move out and go for it based on what we’ve learned.
Our exploration of God’s will with Moses has taken us from a burning bush, to a plea of “Let my people go,” and to a series of mighty miracles done on Israel’s behalf. God’s will is always accompanied by God’s power. And these mighty miracles culminated with one final plague that brought death to every Egyptian home but passed over Israel by a special sign and a meal of memory still eaten today.
God’s final blow against Pharaoh and Egypt was to send an angel of death into every Egyptian home, killing every human and animal firstborn. But by a special provision —the blood of a lamb placed upon the doorposts of the house —He spared the Israelites’ firstborn from death. This special provision was a precursor to the blood of Jesus on the cross that would remove the penalty of death from us.
Prior to sending the death angel, God instructed the Israelites to prepare and eat a symbolic meal. They were to “eat in haste”—ready to roll.

读经计划介绍
It must have seemed to Moses like a long way from a burning bush to a caravan of 2,000,000 Israelites lined up behind him on the road out of Egypt. But Moses simply followed God’s will one step at a time daring to follow God from the known to the unknown. He did the next thing, took the next step in obedience, seeking to know and follow the will of God.
