TRUST GOD TO SEE YOU THROUGH

When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation. Proverbs 10:25

At any given moment, each of us faces a whirlwind in life. It might be financial difficulties, sickness, depression, marital problems, or conflict with our children. During times of testing, people are often not sure what they should do. Should they go or stay, say something or keep quiet? At these times, remember your calling as it corresponds with God’s will; God will protect you and keep His promises.

In Acts 27:13-17, a big storm hit as Paul was being taken by ship to Rome to appear before Caesar. It looked like smooth sailing at first, “But not long after, a tempestuous head wind arose” (v. 14). Soon they were caught in big trouble. They were sailing close to an island when a strong wind took the ship right out to sea. The boat could not be controlled. Paul tried to tell the sailors that all would be well, but they panicked (vv. 21-38). They started throwing the cargo overboard in order to keep the ship afloat. 

But Paul, a man of God, wasn’t worried because he knew he had a destination: he had to stand trial in Rome.

Paul knew that because it was God’s will for him to appear before Caesar, all he had to do was trust God to get him safely there. Maybe you are in serious trouble today. You are stuck, not knowing what to do next. As long as you trust God, you have nothing to fear. Cling to Him in your time of difficulty, and He will see you through.

Dear Lord, please build my faith in Your promises as I face my storms today. Amen.
