The Lord Will Help You

If I asked you, “What is causing you to fear?” I am sure that your answer would have to do with an external or internal threat. This threat may appear to be something or someone that you cannot overpower—someone or something stronger than you.

We are prone to fear and discouragement when we are alone. But what if I told you that the most powerful being of the entire universe is right there at your side every second of the day? Would you still be afraid?

While the people of Judah were in captivity in Babylon, the prophet Isaiah gave them a message. In fact, part of the message was not merely for them to simply listen to, but a command. God commanded them not to fear because he was with them.

Now think about this for a minute. After hearing such an incredible promise, could you still tremble with fear? Impossible. The understanding of this essential truth will deliver you from fear and unbelief. It would be impossible for you to deny what God has promised you that he will do. It would actually be an act of rebellion. If God has promised to be with you, why would you deny such truth?

Sometimes we forget how loving, powerful, and beautiful our Heavenly Father is. When we do this, we open the door to fear and unbelief. Remind yourself of God’s promises to you; take time to read, memorize, and meditate on these promises. If God is with you, who can be against you? Is there a stronger enemy? Is there a situation or a problem too difficult for God?

The grasping of this truth will make you strong, as your strength comes directly from God’s arms around you. He will give you victory over your enemy, internal and external, because his presence will cover you and protect you from evil. God’s right hand will give you strength over fear, doubt, and every thought or argument that is raised against the knowledge of God.
