Family Devotional:

One of the offerings described in Leviticus 7 is known as the “fellowship offering.” Interestingly, God asks that people bring this offering by their own hands (see Leviticus 7:28-30). In other words, God desired that his people give thanks personally. This, by no means, was God on a power-trip, but instead was an intimate moment between the creator and the created. In God’s eyes, the best person to come to him and give thanks is the person themselves.

Daily Demonstration:

On this third day of the week leading to Jesus’ crucifixion, Jesus finds the fig tree withered, goes to the temple to combat religious leaders, and delivers the Olivet Discourse (see Matthew 21:23-27;33-46). Additionally, this also happens to be the day that Judas bargains with the Sanhedrin to betray Jesus. Today is indeed a day in which Jesus got to work on radically standing up for the kingdom of God in the temple courts – an action that would get anyone killed in the First Century. Jesus is our defender and worthy of our thankfulness and praise for his bravery, conviction, and sacrifice. Take time today to give God an offering of thanksgiving. Remember, his desire has always been for this to be an intimate moment between Father and child.
