Leadership Through Love预览
Our careers can be one of the most gratifying and frustrating things in our lives. If you're like me, it can provide an incredible amount of joy and fulfillment, and at the same time leave you feeling unaccomplished. It's easy to go through each season of life with "the next promotion" on your mind. That can be good or bad, depending on how much you let it control your daily mindset.
God gave you the passion that's inside of you for a reason, but it's vital you don't let the desire for "the next step" overshadow the impact that God desires for you to have TODAY. Leadership can be tricky in this regard, because we can be experiencing great success in how we're loving those under our authority, and not appreciate it because of our obsession with the future.
Not seeing the earthly promotion that we seek can make the success we are having seem not only unimportant, but not worth the effort. This is a trap from the Devil, who would love nothing more than for you to settle for mediocracy due to the frustration of your current level of influence. God tells us in Galatians 6 to not become weary, because doing things God's way can drain us. But He promises that 1. It will be worth it if you don't lose heart, and 2. He will provide you the strength to endure the weariness.
Zechariah 4:10 says something incredibly powerful that as a Christ-follower you need to remember. Committing yourself to the high-calling of Leadership through Love won't always come with instant gratification, but it will always be worth the cost.
As you take the challenge of The Sweet Sixteen, don't ever let small beginnings hinder you from believing God can do great things with your commitment to love. Whatever dream God has put in your heart as a leader, put the outcome in His hands, and pursue a daily commitment to loving those around you the way 1 Corinthians 13 calls us to.
May God richly bless you as you dedicate your influence to leading people to Christ.
