I will supply for your needs

Paul is in prison while he writes that God will supply for his needs. He has a faith that is inspiring. He writes this after he has spoken of not being anxious, but thankful, and then he gives us advice to think about whatever is true, noble and right, pure, lovely, admirable and excellent. He goes on to say, ‘I can do all things with Christ, who gives me strength.’ (Phil. 4:13 NLT).

God is our provider. He provided for the Israelites with manna and quail when they were in a dry desert, so we can trust that he will care for us financially, clothe us and give us a roof over our heads. There is enough wealth in the world that if we shared it all out, we would all have what we need. God calls us to be part of his plan for us to provide for his world.

It’s hard to trust that God will come through sometimes, especially when all around us is in chaos. Trust is something that grows when we risk the vulnerability of it not working out and then seeing over a period of time that God has been at work behind the scenes.

Keep seeking God’s kingdom resources for your life. If he created the world out of nothing, he can certainly create something out of a desperate earthly situation. Look around you, he has resources everywhere. Ask God to help you access them. I have found that when I worry about being without, I argue against the thought with God’s promise, ‘I will supply for your needs’; it brings such peace and has proven to be true. Paul also suggests in his letter to the Philippians to tell God what you need and thank him for it. I’m a great believer in self-fulfilling prophesies. Let’s be careful what we say as it may come true!

Prayer: Thank you God, that you supply for all my needs. Help me to trust you and believe that you want to help me with my life. Please give me opportunities to help your world in the area of provision. Amen.
