Revelation 1:10-11 NKJV

I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as a trumpet, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last”… 

John was the last remaining member of the twelve disciples of Jesus. Historians say that the Romans tried to kill him by boiling him in oil, but he just wouldn’t die! So they put him on the island of Patmos, a volcanic, treeless, rocky island where they usually sent criminals to die of loneliness. Loneliness can sure be a killer, but not for John. He was far from lonely. He had the company of millions of angels and other beings! 

Our natural physical senses pick up information about what is happening in the natural physical world surrounding us. Sadly, most people only live there. But John knew how to live in the Spirit; the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm was more real to him than the natural physical realm. Through his spiritual senses, he received information about what is happening in the spiritual realm. And that truly changes your life!

When John stepped into the Spirit, his eyes were opened. And how! He saw visions, amazing creatures, the throne, the judgement, the events which were to happen thousands of years later! He received the whole book of Revelation on the same island where he was supposed to die of loneliness! 

May your eyes be opened to see - heaven! Loneliness will not kill you but revelation from God will set your heart on fire! 

Meditate:

* 2 Kings 6:17 NKJV

And Elisha prayed, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. 

Pray: 

* Ask the Lord to open your and your family’s spiritual eyes. 

* Pray for God’s perfect will for our city and nation to be done.

* Pray for angelic activity in the city.
