Infinitum 30 Day Challenge - Week Four

Our Fundamental Purpose

What is our fundamental purpose? To love? To be loved? I absolutely adore Psalm 139. I encourage you before you read further to read the Psalm. To let identity and love wash over you. You were created and continue to be molded into a beautiful and valuable creation. This speaks directly into our purpose as royal sons and daughters of God, and as such, our purpose is to walk with holy light, and serve with humble love. Another passage of scripture that is infused with purpose is Matthew 11:28-30. I particularly appreciate the MSG version. Phrases like “come to me”, “get away with me”, and “keep company with me” that result in rest, your life recovered, and unforced grace remind me that my purpose is not found in what I do but who I am and who God is. I am (you are) someone that Jesus craves time with. Your fundamental purpose is to be in intimate relationship with The One Who Sees You.

This week, as you dive deeper and deeper into what it looks like to live a life of mission, find a friend who doesn’t know Jesus, ask if they’d be willing to listen to something that inspires you, invite them to close their eyes and read out Matthew 11:28-30 MSG to them. I recently did this with a friend who is going through a messy divorce and although she isn’t a believer, she found hope and comfort in the words of Jesus. This is the beginning of a relationship founded on love.
