Prayers & Promises for First Responders预览
Trust
It is likely that you’ve dined at a restaurant at least once in your lifetime. However, chances are that you don’t thoroughly examine the chairs before sitting in them. Why? Aren’t you concerned about falling on the ground? You don’t examine them because you trust the reliability of the builder, whom you do not know. You also trust the strength of the chair to hold you when you sit down, and you trust that since the chair is still positioned at the table, it is available for occupancy. We trust in chairs, but we are reluctant to trust in others, in ourselves, and even at times, in God. If the maker of the chairs, who is unknown to us, can be trusted, we can be even freer in trusting the Creator of the universe. He holds the stars in balance, and all the tomorrows he knows. Today, if things seem to be swirling out of control, trust in the one who holds everything in the palm of his hand. He is reliable, his strength will sustain, and he will not fail.
Heavenly Father, I know there are times I am not easily trusting of others or of you. I demonstrate this lack of trust through my thoughts, words, and actions. Today, I place my trust wholly in your hands. Amen.
In the middle of the most daunting places of life as a first responder, you know how trust between coworkers is critical to your success. How much more important is your trust in God through this life?
