As we have chosen to spend time with God, let’s pray that he will shape us.

God is calling us to be more holy, like he is holy.

That’s quite a calling and a fairly intimidating one! We know where we fall short, the areas in our lives that we hide away, but God is a graceful God. We’re all on a journey of change and to live holy is to live a life of devotion to an incredible, awe inspiring God.

Some of the things we can do to help us live that life of devotion are spending time in prayer, being inspired by the life of Jesus and digging in to all that God has for us.Today let us offer ourselves to the one true God to be shaped and changed.

This poem was written by a friend inspired by the verses in 1 Peter. As you read it or watch the video let it be a personal prayer.

Shaped

Captivate me, life giver;

Shape, fashion and mould

My reluctant heart.

Light the gloom of darkened thoughts,

Dismiss the immobilising misery of fear

By your transfiguring presence.

Thaw my cold indifference

And unseat the grip of winter

Too long tolerated.

Sculpt the granite of my stubborn will,

Chip and chisel at the block of my resistance

And work the grace of your artistry.

Burn and blaze, guiding star,

Through unchartered ways

And lead me to holy ground.
