When You Pray预览
But Thou.
“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” - Matthew 6:6 KJV
Prayer is simple. Prayer is our communication language with God. Communing with our Heavenly Father does not have to be complex. God desires to commune with you, and He wants to connect with you.
Matthew 6:6 KJV teaches us that there is a “right way” to pray and even a “wrong way.” Let’s explore the simplicity of prayer and examine what it means to “commune” with our Heavenly Father.
Notice that Matthew 6:6 KJV begins with the phrase, “But Thou.” Isn’t it interesting that the Bible uses this statement to highlight the difference between those who desire a sincere relationship with God and those who crave the applause of man?
There is a remnant who desires to seek and commune with God with all of their heart. According to Strong’s Concordance, the Hebrew word for “commune” is “dāḇar” (H1696), which means, “To speak, declare, converse, command, promise, warn, threaten, sing, to speak, to speak with one another, to lead away, to put to flight.”
God desires to commune with you. He wants to converse with you. He desires to speak to you. When you pray, He desires to declare over you. When you pray, He desires to share His Promises with you.
When you pray, He desires to warn you of threats to come. He desires to protect you. He desires to sing over you and to put your enemies to flight. When you pray, He desires to lead and guide every step of your life.
There are those who “pray” to capture man’s attention—and then there are those who pray and capture the Heart of God. There are those who “pray” as an attempt to obtain man’s applause—and then there are those whose prayers move the Heart of God.
Notice what the Amplified Version declares about Matthew 6:6 AMPC, “But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.” When you pray, seek the Heart of God rather than the “Amen” of man. Go to God in private, and He will reward you openly.
There is a time and place to pray openly. 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV declares, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
Corporate prayer heals nations. Private prayer moves the Heart of God, heals hearts, and restores families. Let God restore you. Let God restore your nation. Let God heal your heart. Let God heal your family. Pray to our Heavenly Father, and let God reward you.
