Finding Faith in the Storm预览
Are you going your own way?
"I don't want to go my own way…I want to experience You!" This was my prayer one morning when I just couldn't find answers to my questions.
So many little problems had crept up on me the day before, and I simply couldn't figure out any practical solutions. So I decided to go for a drive, but then I realized my vehicle registration wasn't in the car. How could that happen?
Sometimes it seems as if God leaves us alone with our unresolved issues. That's when this lie can start shouting in our ears: "You're not good enough for God! You're not important enough to bring your troubles to Him." That lie takes up as much space as we give it.
How often do we run after our problems instead of running towards God? We can get into the cycle of trying to fix everything ourselves, believing the lie that God won't help us. But He certainly will!
That morning, I suddenly remembered a phrase that I'd once written about myself: "You're searching, but you're not searching for God." Yikes! At that moment, I stopped searching my car for the registration and instead sat down at my table with a coffee and my Bible. And do you know what I found there?
I found peace, freedom, and even joy, despite my weariness! As His Word says, "Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; seek His face evermore!" (Psalm 105:3-4, NKJV)
Praise God, this is exactly what happens when we stop searching for solutions on our own and begin looking for His answers! (By the way, I later found my missing vehicle registration, too!) :-)
I encourage you—come often before His face. God knows you need regular times of "refueling" with Him to maintain that calm, peace, and even joy in the midst of the storm. Have you experienced that restoration, too? Instead of running, let's start praying, "I don't want to go my own way, Jesus…I want to experience YOU!"
You are a miracle!
