21-Day Devotional for Christian Writers预览
A Published Writer. That is the expectation, the hope of every writer. Some people make it and some don’t. Those that make it get there via many means: e-book publishing, Print on Demand (POD), vanity publishing…the list is endless. For some writers, the Holy Grail is traditional publishing. We seek it, thirst for it, yearn for it, and pursue it because we believe it is the prize. We all want The Call. You know, the one that says: “I’m calling from X Publishing and we like your novel.”
That expectation is not unlike what is described in today’s verse. Indeed, one could argue that the Christian faith is about expectation: the expectation of the fulfillment of God’s promises to us.
You know what it’s like when you’re promised something? You can’t wait for it. This expectation is not limited only to children, but to adults as well. It’s like waiting for the publication of your book, blog, or article. You simply can’t wait for the ‘big reveal.’ And that is what today’s verse is about: balancing the yearning with the joy of the big reveal.
It also speaks to the celebration that will happen when we, Christians, will finally be revealed to each other, and we can celebrate as a family – the children of God.
“For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.”
