Splendor Of The King预览
"Restoring the Father"
God is in the restoration business and he’s a master at it. Let's return to Sambo’s story to illustrate.
As you know, Sambo was a child soldier in the Khmer Rouge. To deal with his past, he began drinking—ruining his relationships as a result. His wife was frightened of him, his neighbors didn't like him, and his sons had been trafficked. However, when I met Sambo, the story was different. Through the local church, Sambo had remarkably come to faith. He was healed from his alcohol addiction and some local Christians had come alongside him.
By the time I met him, Sambo had been able to start his own business and he helped his neighbors do the same. His relationship with his wife had been restored and his income meant he could bring his children home. He even set up a small church, with 20 or so local families attending.
We all know people whose lives need to be restored. Perhaps that’s true for you? Let’s spend time praying for those who we know need restoration, that God would do only what he can do.
