Acceptable

The normal flow of our world seems to be that if you work hard for something, you get it. In the area of being forgiven for our sins, that is not the case. You cannot ever do enough good in your life to get yourself into heaven. No matter how hard you try, that’s not how it works—and thankfully so!

The only way to be in heaven later is through God’s grace through his Son, Jesus Christ. That means if we have faith in God and Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, which made us acceptable to him, that is all that matters. Trusting God to do what he says and that his Word is true is the most difficult part of understanding, but it is the most important thing of all. So, if you ever find yourself constantly working harder to get God to approve of you, you don’t need to!
