Daily Bible Reading – May 2023, God’s Saving Word: Faith预览
May 6
Introduction
The Letter to the Hebrews was written to encourage people in their faith and to show that Jesus Christ is the true and final revelation of God. In today’s reading from the final chapter of the letter, Christians are given instructions on how to live in ways that please God. The reading concludes with a closing prayer.
Scripture Reading
Hebrews 13:1-21
Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Reflect
What kinds of service are pleasing to God (verses 1-3)? Verse 9 says, “Do not let all kinds of strange teachings lead you from the right way.” Have you ever been tempted to abandon doing what you knew was right? If so, how did you deal with that situation? What does it mean to you, knowing that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (verse 8)?
Pray
Lord Jesus, you are indeed the same yesterday, today, and forever! Knowing this fills me with awe and joy. Knowing you are always with me and will be with me forever gives me comfort and the strength to face whatever trials may come my way. Thank you, Jesus, for loving me so. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Galatians 1:1-24: The apostle Paul defends his call and his message.
